Nearly 200 residents, friends, board members and staff gathered Friday, October 14, for the Lutheran Community at Telford’s premier fundraising event Emerald Evening: The Roaring 20s.
Before and after the buffet dinner, guests participated in a variety of casino-style games including blackjack and roulette. All guests received a chip voucher to play. Winners earned more chips while the less lucky were able to purchase additional chips. All chips were cashed in for tickets to allow guests to continue trying their luck on any of the 12 raffle items.
In addition, guests could bid on any – or all! – of the 12 silent auction items.
The evening raised over $80,000 for Telford’s Benevolent Care Fund. Since 2007, this event alone has raised over $1 million for the Fund.
The Benevolent Care Fund assures residents they will always have a home in our community. It provides a safety net for residents who may outlive their assets through no fault of their own. As a not-for-profit community, the needs of our residents and families are always our first priority. Last year alone, the Lutheran Community at Telford provided over $1.9 million in charitable care.
